Over the past few months we have made various improvements to our facilities, largely aimed at developing the R&D area with the incorporation of innovative techniques such as the introduction of cement tanks or the storage of wine in foudres, which will allow us to continue to offer wines with poise and character.

The recent investment is aligned with our positioning strategy and with which we want to improve quality standards in order to have an integrated management of all processes. The improvements have also been aimed at increasing energy efficiency in the wine fermentation process, through the implementation of cooling water temperature control systems and, finally, to mechanise some processes (introduction of robotic shovels). Mechanisation will also bring about a significant improvement for the entire workforce in terms of reduced physical labour.
Juan José Balbás, general manager of Bodegas Balbás, comments that ’The completion of the expansion of the winery's facilities and the improvement of our quality standards means taking further steps towards the consolidation of our future positioning: to produce wines of the highest quality. All this, together with the reinforcement of the management team with the incorporation of my daughters Patricia and María Balbás, as well as our national and international sales teams, makes me foresee a great opportunity for Bodegas Balbás to achieve a solid and sustained growth.”.
